The City of Torrevieja has announced its vibrant cultural calendar for January through April 2025, featuring an array of performances that promise to captivate audiences. With concerts, theatre, comedy, opera, and local talent, this programme continues to solidify Torrevieja’s reputation as a year-round cultural hub.
The announcement was made by Antonio Quesada, Councillor for Culture, and Manuel Esteban Moreno, coordinator of Cultura Torrevieja, who presented the details alongside the Cultura Torrevieja team.
During 2024, the city’s Municipal Theatre and the Torrevieja International Auditorium hosted over 200 performances, drawing more than 80,000 attendees. Now, 2025 is set to begin with a spectacular lineup of more than 40 shows that will run through the first four months of the year.
Highlights of the Programme
January
Epiphany Concerts: The Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra kicks off the year with its signature concerts.
Theatre Premiere: Juan Sin Miedo, a children’s musical about a fearless young man.
Gala Events: The Gala de la Cultura (January 11) and Gala del Deporte (January 19).
Comedy and Music: Performances by J.J. Vaquero, Sette Voci, Lucía España, and Quelis, a musical inspired by the stories of Torrevieja women.
February
Cineman Show: Dani Diges and the Torrevieja Symphony Orchestra present an unforgettable concert.
Carnival Extravaganza: Featuring the Pregón, Coronation Gala, National Drag Queen Contest, and Teatrico.
Comedy Theatre: Una Madre de Película with Toni Acosta, and Pensionistas, a touching story of resilience and joy.
Classical Music: A tribute to Tchaikovsky and Schubert by the OST and a grand performance of Verdi’s opera Il Trovatore.
March
Family Entertainment: Dinosaurs and Princesses and a fresh take on Hansel & Gretel.
Special Events: The 4th Reinventing Education Congress, the National Comparsas & Chirigotas Competition, and the 30th International Youth Habaneras Competition.
Musical Highlights: The Film Symphony Orchestra’s TARAB, OST’s American Music, and UMT’s Campanya Música als Pobles.
Theatre & Music: A tu Lado, an autobiographical musical by Los Secretos, and the tribute concert Brothers in Band honoring Dire Straits. Paz Padilla will also present her comedic show, El humor de mi vida.
April
Tributes and Drama: A Queen tribute concert Remember, the premiere of the zarzuela La Tabernera del Puerto, and La Pasión, a dramatic recount of Jesus Christ’s last hours.
Comedy and Concerts: Shows by comedian Corbacho, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Torrevieja, and singer Shani Ormiston.
