This Friday, December 13, at 5:30 p.m., Torrevieja will host the 22nd edition of the international Christmas carol concert, “Carols in the Square,” organised by the Department of International Residents of the Torrevieja City Council since 2002. The event will take place in Plaza de la Constitución, featuring a diverse lineup of performances:
- Scandinavian College Choir
- Melody Makers Singing Group Choir (Torrevieja)
- “Sanzienele” vocal group from the “Acércate a Rumanía” Cultural Association and children from the Romanian Language, Culture, and Civilization course in Torrevieja
- Polish Friends Choir (Director: Ezequiel Soriano Freire)
- Tando Choir (Ukrainian Children and Teenagers Choir)
- Students of the Casanovas Professional Conservatory (Teacher: Belén Puente)
The Torrevieja Youth Symphony Orchestra Ensemble (JOST), conducted by Francisco J. Garres, will accompany all choirs. Host Shani Ormiston will perform one of her songs to close the event.
The Mayor and other council members will also be in attendance. Attendees are advised to arrive early, as the Plaza de la Constitución is expected to reach full capacity. Many will be dressed in traditional Santa Claus costumes as carols from various European countries fill the air.
