More than 250 cyclists take part in the National Pump Track Championship which will be held on the world’s largest track in La Siesta on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November.
The announcement was made by the Sports Councillor, Diana Box Alonso, along with the president of the Valencian Cycling Federation, José Enrique Gutiérrez Cataluña, and the organizer and representative of the company AV Sport Cycling, Juan Ferrer López.
A total of 250 cyclists, aged between 5 and over 60, will participate in this third Spanish Pump Track Championship, a sports discipline that in recent years is showing major growth among cycling enthusiasts. Athletes from all over Spain will take part, the most numerous being from the Galician and Aragonese communities.
The track will be available on 1 November for familiarisation and training
On Friday, November 1, all participants in our city will already be there to be there for official training, and then on Saturday, November 2, from 4:00 p.m., the competition will be held for cyclists in categories between 5-8 years of age.
On Sunday, November 3, from 10:00 a.m., cyclists from the categories Children, Cadet, Junior, Under-23, Elite, Master 30, Master 40, Master 50 and Master 60 will compete. Trophies will be presented on the track at the end of the competition.
The Championship will be broadcast live on stream and TVE’s Telesport, TVE will broadcast a video summary of the entire competition.
La Siesta Pump Track has an area of 4,200 2m2, divided into three levels that are: specialist/advanced, intermediate and child. There is a longitudinal surface of 300 metres for the advanced track, 180 metres for the intermediate and 60 metres for the children’s.
