The company Acciona Agua, SA has been asked to explain the “abnormally low” offer they submitted for the construction of the expansion of the Torrevieja desalination plant.
Acciona has entered the competition to build this expansion, which plans to increase the capacity of the Torrevieja desalination plant by 50% to 120 cubic hectometres per year, offering to carry out these works for 60,739,493.51 euro, compared to 108,528,241.30 of the tender price (IVA not included).
The hiring table has already asked the company to justify the offer. The company has asked to extend the deadline to submit all the documentation, and the board is waiting to receive it.
Therefore, there could be a delay in the expansion plans, as apart from this, the best valued is the joint venture formed by Ferrovial-Sacyr, with 29 of the 30 points at stake. The rest of the companies that have submitted to the competition are Acciona (25.5 points), CA Infraestructuras Hidráulidas- GOMLS-Becsa (21.5 points), Lantania Aguas-Comsa-Copasa (20.5) and Obrascon Huarte- GS Inima Environment (20.5 points).
