The Prosecutor has asked for a sentence of four years and nine months in prison be handed to a man for a crime against public health, and another of resistance, after the defendant stands accused of drug trafficking and of throwing cocaine in the face of the agents who asked him to identify himself in Torrevieja.
The events occurred on June 27, 2019, when a the Guardia Civil went to the home of the accused, in Torrevieja, who, upon seeing them, refused to identify himself, tried to flee and struggled with the agents.
During the struggle, the man tore a bag containing a white substance that he was carrying in his pocket and threw it in the faces of the officers trying to restrain him. The substance turned out to be 44 grams of cocaine.
One of the agents suffered abrasions and anxiety from cocaine exposure, injuries that took a day to heal from.
