Nicky Henderson trained Marie’s Rock has been heavily backed into 6-1 from 10-1 to land the Coral Lanzarote Handicap Hurdle at Kempton on Saturday – with prizemoney £100,000 up for grabs.
Marie’s Rock, a Listed mares’ novice hurdle winner in 2019, among 20 declarations, romped to a 7 lengths win over course and distance on King George VI Chase day.
Henderson is also represented by James Bowen, up on top weight Call Me Lord and Connor Brace, who rides Monte Cristo.
Marie’s Rock, entered in the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle at the March Cheltenham Festival, could see odds of 25-1 slashed, if returning to the winner’s enclosure.
Harry Cobden rides 11-2 favourite Gelino Bello, who returns after finishing second behind Albert Bartlett favourite Blazing Khal in a Grade 2 Novice Hurdles at Cheltenham.
Dan Skelton trained Ch’tibello (2.40) is tipped each-way by fromthehorsesmouth.info at odds of 8-1, with Evan Williams trained Dans Le Vent worthy of each-way support at 12-1.
The Grade 2 Coral Silviniaco Conti Chase over 2m 4f has £80,000 up for grabs – with a paltry four runners going to post.
