Phil Kirby trained Lord Rococco won the Watch Sky Sports Racing In HD Maiden Hurdle over 2 miles at Hexham on Sunday, under jockey Tommy Dowson.
“Lord Rococco has improved again on his first run and we are delighted that he’s won”, Phil’s wife Pippa told me.
Lord Rococco chased the leader two out and pushed on, to lead on the flat, beating Charming Dream by 2 1/4 lengths, with Boltisimme back in third place, in the 14 runners field.
Lord Rococco, bred out of Lady Chloe x Shirocco, had finished second at Hexham in May: “It was an excellent race on what was his second hurdles start in winning the Novice at Hexham,” said Pippa.
Phil Kirby racing stables are based at Green Oaks, East Appleton, Richmond, north Yorkshire: “Congratulations to his owners,” said delighted Pippa.
