Submariners currently assigned to the “Mistral” vessel visited Torrevieja this week, in order to take a guided tour of the Delfin submarine which forms part of the museum exhibits in the town.
The current acting mayor, José Manuel Dolòn, and councillor Domingo Pérez Domingo Soler, welcomed the commander of the Mistral, Jorge Garrido Maestre, and the crew to the town hall, where gifts were exchanged before visiting the submarine which is located in the harbour.
For some of the crew it was more of a welcome home, as they had previously served on the Delfin before it was decommissioned and donated to Torrevieja to be part of the Sea and Salt museum.
