We met at the wonderful Alenda course to play the 4th and ultimate round of the summer cup in which the total of the best two scores from four wins the prestigious trophy.
Going into the last round several players were in contention, but a final round of 38 points put stalwart Geoff Ettridge tied on 72 points with Iain Lyall. The tiebreak was settled by adding the third best score of each of them resulting in the trophy being presented to Iain with a margin of 3 points. Some consolation for Geoff was his silver award for the day with the gold award, also for 38 points, going to Mark Pope.
Nearest the pins went to Noel Danagher who now has two sleeves of balls to collect, Bill Stobo (again) and two to John Brastock.
The presentations were made in the evening at the la marina sports complex where we were provided with an excellent meal and wine by Helena and her team.
