Almost 850 kgs of food was collected last week in the Playa Flamenca Branch of SUPERCOR last week by the Community Group San Miguel Archangel.
The collection took place on the 4th and 5th of August and was manned by 14 members of the charity who all gave up holidays to help out.
A spokesperson from the group said that SUPERCOR staff had been amazing, donation quite a lot of the food themselves.
The food collected will be used to cover the basic needs of the families hardest hit by the crisis in the municipality.
