Emergency Councilor Víctor Valverde announced on Tuesday that the Generalitat Valenciana’s Security and Emergency Agency, along with AEMET, has issued a yellow alert for strong winds across the province of Alicante, including the entire coastal area.

In response, the Emergency and Civil Protection Department ordered the closure of outdoor facilities in Orihuela, including sports facilities near El Palmeral, parks, and green spaces for the duration of the alert. Residents were also advised to avoid outdoor activities until conditions improve.

Additionally, as a precaution against potential accidents caused by strong gusts of wind, the Civil Protection and Local Police of Orihuela cordoned off the perimeter of Glorieta Gabriel Miró at Avenida Duque de Tamames, as well as the children’s play areas in Severo Ochoa Park, Bernardo Ruiz Park (Ocarasa), and Miguel Hernández Park (San Antón).
