The Orihuela Council has officially named Álvaro García, an Agronomic and Technical Agricultural Engineer, as the General Coordinator of Area 5 (Basic Services). In this role, García will oversee the coordination of key municipal areas, including Environmental Management, Street Cleaning and Waste Management (RSU), Statistics, Transport, and Public Health.

Following the approval by the Local Government Board, the appointment will be published in the Official Bulletin of the Province of Alicante (BOP). Once published, García will have three working days to assume his role if no relocation is required, or one month if relocation is necessary.

This timeline begins the day after the cessation of his previous position, which must occur within three working days following the publication of the appointment in the BOP.

He most recently served as the Deputy Director of Sustainable Agricultural Production and Nutrition in the Department of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries of the Murcia Region.
