Come to Spain for the sunshine and warmth they said – driving into Las Colinas, we said simultaneously “Is that frost?”.  An early tee time was threatened with an hour’s delay due to the heavy frost, causing a little bit of chaos with late arrivals hearing about the proposed later tee times but we all got off on time and it turned into a really beautiful winter’s day.

It was soon evident that either the Greenkeeper got out of the wrong side of the bed or clearly thought it was April 1st with the pin positions and yellow tee boxes.  Certain holes were played very differently from the yellow tee box positions today which made for some interesting scoring.  The course was, as per usual, in very good condition.

A few empty spots today with 45 well-wrapped up golfers getting going, shedding layers of clothing as the day got warmer.  And the scores today were *drumroll*:

Gold: Mike Stott (36 points) – best score of the day
Silver: Rob Fyfe (34 points)
Bronze: Pat Dooley (35 points)

The scores speak volumes on the dodgy pin positions today… enough said about that.

The “Twos” pot was divided between Paul Lambert, Mike Stott and Mike Stott (yes, two twos).  Nearest the Pins this week were Peter Spinks, Paul Lambert, Roger Webb, Issy Wiggins-Turner and Mike Stott.  Ken Flaherty took the football card pot with Bolton as the winning team.

Vistabella for our second Eclectic meet next week which is already fully booked.  As a note, our membership is unfortunately closed but guests can register on the reserve list on our website.
