Torrevieja will use drones to monitor mosquitoes and pests under a new service awarded to CTL, costing 725,395 euros over five years.
The Mayor, Eduardo Dolón, and Councillor for Health and Pest Control, Diana Box, announced the service, which includes new vehicles and drones to combat insects and rodents.
CTL will provide various vehicles, including drones for inspection and product application, with an annual expenditure of 145,079 euros.
The service targets rodents, cockroaches, and mosquitoes, which can transmit diseases and cause allergies. The strategy focuses on controlling larval foci and using adulticidal products when necessary.
The service also includes disinfection in public facilities and control of the processionary caterpillar in parks and schools.
The project aims to tackle pest infestations effectively and improve residents’ quality of life.
