June 20, 2025 – The Spanish Civil Guard has dismantled a criminal group made up of six Spanish nationals involved in a violent robbery that took place in December 2024 at a residence in San Fulgencio. A judge has ordered three of the suspects to be held in detention.

The investigation began on December 18, 2024, led by the Property Crimes Unit of the Alicante Civil Guard’s Judicial Police. A woman had reported being assaulted in her home by several masked individuals. She had caught them tampering with the electrical panel in her garage. Upon being discovered, the attackers knocked her down, covered her mouth to stop her from calling for help, and inflicted injuries to her face, chin, and head.

Thanks to witness cooperation and evidence gathered during the investigation, officers traced a suspicious vehicle that had been involved in a police incident just hours before the robbery. The car had fled a security checkpoint in the nearby town of Guardamar del Segura.

Further investigation led authorities to a group based in Almería province known for committing property-related crimes. One of the suspects was already in prison for similar offenses committed earlier.

The operation culminated with a search of a residence in the town of Pulpí (Almería), where police found some of the clothing worn during the robbery and part of a firearm. The arrests and search were carried out with support from the Almería Command’s Citizen Security Unit (USECIC).

The six individuals arrested—five men and one woman, aged between 22 and 48—are facing charges of belonging to a criminal organization, violent robbery, and assault. All were brought before a judge. Three have been remanded in custody, while the other three were released under precautionary measures.
