Benejúzar Kicks Off Easter Week with Pregón and Concert

Benejúzar has officially announced the schedule of religious and institutional events for Easter Week 2025. The mayor, Vicente Cases, alongside local religious leaders, presented the program, which runs from April 5 to April 20.

The events will begin on Saturday, April 5, at the Eloy García López Municipal Auditorium. The celebrations will include the Pregón de Semana Santa, delivered by Irene Sala at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Easter Concert featuring the Maestro Eloy García Band from Málaga. This concert is part of the XXX Campaign of Music in the Villages organized by the Provincial Council of Alicante. A signing ceremony for a partnership with the Málaga band is also planned.

Manuel Ruiz unveiled the official poster for the Easter celebrations, which features the Christ of the Dead image from the local parish. He also detailed the processions, starting on Palm Sunday with the procession of Jesus Triumphant. Other key events include the Silence Procession on Holy Thursday at 11:00 p.m., Good Friday’s procession at 6:00 p.m., and the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday, concluding with the Resurrection Sunday procession at 10:00 a.m.

Religious activities will take place at the Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary, including the reception of the Pilgrim Virgin image on April 10, followed by a penitential celebration. Various masses, processions, and the Via Crucis on Good Friday are also scheduled.
