On March 28, 2025, the 2024 SICTED (Integrated System of Tourist Quality in Destinations) awards were presented in Torrevieja to recognize businesses that have made efforts to improve the quality of tourism services in the city. The ceremony, held at the CdT of Torrevieja, was attended by local officials, including the mayor, Eduardo Dolón, and the head of Tourism, Rosario Martínez.
Torrevieja joined the SICTED system in 2014, aiming to provide a consistent level of quality across all tourism services, including those indirectly related to tourism. Currently, 86 businesses are distinguished under the program, with 103 businesses in total adhering to the system.
Torrevieja offers 19 of the 37 services covered by SICTED, including beaches, tourist information, and safety services. The city has seen significant growth in certified businesses, with the number of businesses holding the “Q for Quality” certificate increasing from 10 to 21 this year.
Notable newcomers this year include 8 first-time recipients such as Am Home192, Delicious Bakery La Jijonenca, and Playa de la Mata. Additionally, 38 services were recognized, with many businesses renewing their certifications, including restaurants, hotels, and beaches.
