The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the Councilor for International Residents, Gitte Lund, together with the Councilor for Culture, Antonio Quesada, attended the diploma ceremony for the Spanish courses for foreigners aimed at acquiring language proficiency.
The event took place last Friday at the Palacio de la Música. The courses, which began in January, lasted 8 weeks and were directed at international residents registered in the city of Torrevieja.
The 90 students were divided into groups of 15, depending on their level, either beginner or intermediate. Each group received a total of 32 hours of training, with sessions held three days a week, two hours per day. Out of the 196 applications received by the International Residents Department, 90 students were selected.
The participants in the courses came from countries such as Italy, France, Belgium, Ukraine, Russia, Germany, UK, Sweden, Norway, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Slovakia, Estonia, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, and Norway, among others.
The main goal of these courses is to provide participants with the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, both in everyday and professional situations. The courses cover both beginner and intermediate levels, offering a solid linguistic foundation.
The next session is scheduled for September 2025.
