Tania Gomez, a 33-year-old Swedish national known as the “Cocaine Queen of Europe,” has been captured in Lanzarote, Spain, after nearly four years on the run.
Listed among Europol’s most-wanted fugitives, she faces charges of large-scale drug trafficking and money laundering.
Before going into hiding, Gomez portrayed herself as a glamorous Instagram influencer and ran the HundGärin dog rescue charity in Stockholm. However, Swedish authorities claim the charity served as a front to launder approximately €17 million in drug money.
Investigators believe she was involved in the handling and distribution of a 10-kilogram cocaine shipment in Stockholm in May 2020.
Fleeing Sweden in 2021 following a major drug bust, Gomez settled in Tías, Lanzarote. Acting on intelligence, Spanish National Police arrested her on February 20, 2025. She now awaits extradition to Sweden, where she could face up to 14 years in prison.
Her arrest highlights ongoing international efforts to dismantle organized crime networks and combat drug trafficking across Europe.
