On the 28th of February Mojácar prepares to celebrate Andalucía Day with a programme full of music, tradition and a unique atmosphere highlighting Andalucían pride.
The event will begin at 12 noon with the raising of the Andalucían flag, a solemn act accompanied by the Mojácar Municipal Music Band. Following the ceremony, the band will delight the audience with a repertoire of various musical pieces, adding a cultural and festive touch to the celebration.
At 2pm, those going along will be able to enjoy a giant solidarity paella for a symbolic price of €1 per serving. All proceeds will go to Asociación TeAma (Mojácar Autism Association), a local organisation dedicated to supporting people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families, promoting inclusion and wellbeing in the community.
The Mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García, highlighted the importance of this celebration: “Andalucía Day is an opportunity to assert our identity and our values. In Mojácar, we want this day to be a gathering point to enjoy together and share the pride of being Andalucían.”
The Festivities councillor, Pascual Artero, added: ‘We have prepared a very special programme, designed for all ages. We invite everyone to take part and experience a day full of tradition, good music and, of course, a great atmosphere.”
The event is presented as a unique opportunity to enjoy Andalucían culture in a privileged setting. “The best festivities are those that are shared, so don’t hesitate to come along with family and friends. Mojácar awaits you with open arms,” concluded Artero.
