On Friday, a total of 41 Local Police officers joined the Valencian Institute of Public Safety and Emergencies (IVASPE) to begin the 61st Basic Training Course (BS61).

This course marks the second phase of the competitive selection process for officer consolidation and stabilisation in Torrevieja. It consists of 700 hours of training and is expected to conclude in June, after which the officers will begin a two-month internship within the Torrevieja Local Police Force.

The course’s opening ceremony was attended by Irene Rodríguez, Secretary of Security and Emergencies and Director of the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response (AVSRE), along with IVASPE Director Sol Durá Ramos. Representatives from the Torrevieja Local Police included Chief Superintendent Óscar Cartón and Inspectors Jacobo Rodríguez and José Manuel Mora.
