The PSOE has accused the Orihuela municipal government, led by PP and VOX, of wasting public funds in the Entrenaranjos urbanisation.

Councilor Isidro Grao highlighted that €38,720 has already been spent on renting two unused properties, with a total contract commitment of €58,080 over two years.

The premises were rented in September 2023 to serve as a Civic Participation Centre offering essential municipal services, but still remain empty 16 months after their approval. Despite being ready for use, no services, including employment, healthcare, or rural development support, have been delivered.

Grao criticized the governing coalition for its poor management and failure to fulfil promises, calling the situation a “waste of public money and a mockery of residents.”

The PSOE is demanding immediate answers and solutions in the next municipal plenary session, urging the government to address the needs of citizens and open the promised centre without further delay.

Grao concluded by calling for accountability and swift action to end what he describes as incompetence and disregard for the public’s needs.
