The town of Benejúzar is set to participate in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid, running from January 22 to 26, 2025. The municipality’s diverse offerings will be presented at the Valencian Community stand and the Costa Blanca space, showcasing Benejúzar’s unique blend of sports, culture, gastronomy, and natural attractions.

Key Highlights of Benejúzar’s Agenda at FITUR:

Launch of the Gastrocultural Guide

On Wednesday, January 22, Benejúzar will unveil its new Gastrocultural Guide, which highlights local traditional recipes, cultural plans, and iconic products as part of the “Benejúzar Experience” project.

Promotion of the European Under-23 Petanque Championship

Details of the European Under-23 Petanque Championship, scheduled for October in Benejúzar, will also be revealed. The event will feature representatives from the Spanish and Valencian Petanque Federations.

Gastronomic Showcase: Toña de Repulgo

On Thursday, January 23, attendees can enjoy a tasting of the Toña de Repulgo, a traditional local pastry. A video will illustrate its artisanal preparation using natural ingredients.

Biodiversity Presentation: Fauna of Sierra de Benejúzar

A video presentation by local wildlife expert Evaristo Rodríguez will highlight the biodiversity and unique visitor experiences in the natural areas surrounding the town.

Cultural Spotlight: Fiesta and Romería of the Virgen del Pilar

On Friday, January 24, Benejúzar will present its most iconic festival, the Fiesta and Romería of the Virgen del Pilar, declared of Regional Tourist Interest. Held in the Plaza de Callao, the event will feature traditional dance performances, including the Jota of Benejúzar, with official representatives Carlota Sánchez and Julia Pérez.

Music and Tradition

On Saturday, January 25, Benejúzar will introduce the Second National Congress of Cofrade Music, scheduled for March, which will bring bands from Madrid, Granada, and Almería to the town. The event will close with the launch of the magazine La Jota de Benejúzar, detailing the history and cultural significance of the town’s traditional dance.

Additional Promotion

Images of the Fiestas de la Pilarica will be displayed on promotional screens in Madrid’s Plaza de Callao, extending the town’s presence beyond the FITUR venue.
