Orihuela Town Hall has announced the tender for the installation of a new street lighting system along the promenades of Aguamarina, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, and Punta Prima. This initiative aims to modernise and upgrade the lighting in these popular coastal areas, known for their high tourist value and footfall.
The existing lighting system is outdated and in por condition, with designs that no longer meet modern standards. The current luminaires consume excessive energy, offer poor lighting performance, and show significant wear in both design and materials.
The new project will feature cutting-edge LED lamps with very low energy consumption. These improvements will enhance luminosity, improve energy efficiency, and align with the municipality’s sustainability goals. The upgrade is expected to reduce electricity consumption by 60% and significantly cut CO2 emissions. While the streetlights’ current positions will remain unchanged, their vertical supports will be refurbished, and new-generation luminaires and lamps will be installed.
Project Details and Funding
The total budget for the project is €198,505.01, with an expected completion time of three months. This initiative is part of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan and is financed through the European Union’s Next Generation funds,
