The Civil Guard has arrested a Spanish couple, aged 28 and 30, in Torrevieja. They face charges for three counts of robbery with violence and intimidation, and one count of minor theft. The couple travelled from Albacete to Torrevieja to carry out their crimes.

The investigation began after a series of violent robberies targeting elderly individuals in Torrevieja were reported. The suspects used a vehicle in their operations, sometimes committing the robberies without leaving the car, causing injuries such as cuts, bruises, and fractures by dragging the victims.

In other instances, one suspect remained in the vehicle while the other forcibly stole belongings or used a sharp object to threaten the victims.

It was discovered that the suspects resided in Albacete but travelled to Torrevieja, taking advantage of access in a holiday home. This allowed them to commit the crimes and then return to their usual residence.

Within two weeks of the first reported robbery, the suspects were identified and linked to four crimes: three violent robberies and one minor theft. They were arrested in Torrevieja on December 16 and presented to the Court of Instruction No. 2 of Torrevieja on December 19, where both were ordered to be imprisoned.

The investigation is ongoing, and new victims and additional related crimes may yet be uncovered.
