Torrevieja council started proceedings for the acquisition, by mutual agreement of the parties involved, of two plots of land in Calle Maldonado, for the expansion of the green area located on the same street, by direct purchase.
Federico Alarcón, has reported that with the acquisition of these two plots, which have a total of 259 square meters, the Council will increase the size of the park to almost 1,000 square meters.
A project is currently being drawn up for its construction. It has become clear that the area needs a larger recreation area which can only be achieved by acquiring additional land. As such, the plots located at Calle Maldonado, numbers 13 and 14 are ideal. They have been valued by the municipal surveyors at 156,911 euros and 139,750 euros respectively.
With this park project, the Torrevieja Town Hall aims to improve the quality of urban life, offering benefits such as the reduction of atmospheric pollution, the mitigation of urban heat islands and the provision of recreational spaces necessary for recreation and physical exercise for the public.
