The Mayor of Orihuela, Pepe Vegara, received the 28 Local Police officers who have now joined the staff as career civil servants, following the stabilisation process and after successfully completing the theoretical and practical course at the Valencian Institute of Public Safety and Emergencies (IVASPE).
Vegara was accompanied by the councillors for Human Resources and Public Safety, Agustina Rodríguez and Mónica Pastor, respectively, as well as the Superintendent of the Local Police, Rubén Selma.
The Mayor thanked them for their work and expressed his pride in the Orihuela Local Police Force. ‘I am completely convinced that your work will continue to increase that pride every day and, above all, that we are reassured. Sometimes we are not able to measure what day to day life would be like if you were not here, so I would also like to express our gratitude.
Several of these officers have already been working as interim officers of the of the Orihuela Local Police for as many as 17 years.
