Christmas surely came early at the Marina Bar, Calle de las Rosas, Torrevieja, when their Christmas Fair opened on 23rd.November.
This fair was in aid of charity ‘Donacions Torevieja Alredores’ who help local poor and homeless families and the 1,108 Euros raised will certainly make a difference this festive season.
The fair opened with music from The Costa Blanca International Band and the variety of stalls selling gifts, cakes Christmas decorations etc were soon attracting the many people attending. ‘The Melody Makers’ were soon enhancing the afternoon by singing a variety of well known carols and the Raffle and Tombola together with ‘Name The Bear’ in order to win him had the crowd of people eager to participate.
Organises David and Lorraine Whitney, well known for their charity work, were more than happy with the turn out of people and with the generosity the people showed. Coach trip vouchers, breakfast for two, afternoon tea for two, hair dressing voucher, manicure voucher, food hamper and loads of other prizes had people eagerly buying raffle tickets.
With a surprise visit from Santa himself the children there were well pleased and gave parents a great opportunity to take photo’s.
A big thank you must go out to everybody who kindly donated gifts and prizes from local companies to generous individuals. The Marina Bar team once again excelled themselves and were kept busy serving drinks and food.
With another popular event ‘Mingle Bells’ looming up on the 20th December it looks set to be a busy time for the bar with organisers David and Lorraine once again hosting this popular annual two course Christmas lunch for which bookings are already being taken. Contact the bar for further details.
Thank you everybody for supporting this charity and for once again putting smiles on the faces of those people less fortunate.
