The serious irregularities observed by the Seprona in the business in which it found 15 vehicles in repair amount to 300,000 euros in fines
The Civil Guard has denounced a 58-year-old male in Rojales for carrying out vehicle repair and painting activities without the necessary authorizations or conditions, in addition to illegally storing hazardous waste.
During a routine patrol, officers saw a vehicle in repair outside a warehouse. They requested documentation but found, in addition to mechanical work, the proprietor was carrying out paint and sheet repair tasks to many other vehicles.
Officers found a considerable accumulation of waste and scrap deposited without any environmental control or safety measures. In addition, the agents identified a total of 15 motor vehicles, passenger cars, vans and motorcycles belonging to different owners and at different stages of repair.
The owner was unable to provide an environmental license, the registration of the Workshops and the distinctive workshop plate.
In addition, hazardous waste generated at the site, such as filters, brake liquids, batteries, solvents and sanding powder, was not being treated correctly, indicating the clandestine disposal of waste.
Due to the seriousness of the violations, with each resulting in penalties of up to 45,000 euros, the operator could receive a fine of up to 300,000 euros, because of the risks they pose to the environment and community safety
