Airport operator Aena has put to tender the contract for a 2.7 MW self-consumption solar power plant to be installed in the canopies of the Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez Airport car park building.
The photovoltaic plant will have 5,052 photovoltaic modules, which will collect the generated electricity until it is finally discharged into the Airport’s power station. The project also includes the energy evacuation facilities, which consist of the power lines that run through a trench and gallery until they reach the Airport’s power station.
The estimated value of the contract is 2,620,177 euro. The deadline for submitting bids is open until 18 October. The execution period for the works is 30 months.
The project, which is part of the company’s Climate Action Plan, involves an investment of 350 million euro for the construction of solar plants at 14 airports in the network, taking into account the availability of land and the guarantee of a high level of solar use due to their geographical location. Furthermore, the financing of this project is not associated with the EU aid fund.
