The municipality of Pîlar de la Horadada was hoping to raise upward of 1.6 million euro from the auction of four urban plots of land but, to date, has only awarded one, adjacent to La Romera golf course

It has therefore only collected 12 per cent of the initial forecast from the sale of the land with which it intended to finance investments planned for 2024.

Earlier this year it tendered an offer of four residential urban plots at an upward auction valued at 1,640.000 euros, however, only the one offered on Lo Romero golf course, at a tender price of 195,000 euros has been attractive to the buyers. The auction of the other three plots located south of the urban centre of 1,980, 1,300 and 700 square meters has been abandoned.

The result has had two consequences. The first is that to finance the Centre for Musical and Performing Arts (CAMME), which was the destination of sale, the Council will now have to obtain a loan.

The second is to put aside the sale of the three remaining plots to another time. The council considers that at this time, promoters have sufficient urban land available to them, so they will not repeat the auction process or lower the initial price of the land, which they will either reserve for other uses or raise a new tender process in the future.
