Rental prices continue their unstoppable rise. According to the latest report published by the Fotocasa portal, 81% of the municipalities analysed have experienced an increase in the price of rental housing compared to the previous year.
At the regional level, the Comunitat has not been immune to this trend. According to the report, the region has experienced a year-on-year increase of 9.7% in rental prices, placing it in seventh among the autonomous communities with the greatest increase in the last twelve months. Although this percentage is significant, the Comunitat is behind other regions such as Asturias, which leads the ranking with an increase of 17.9%, followed by Madrid (15.6%) and Castilla-La Mancha (14.8%).
The Alicante towns of San Vicente del Raspeig and Alcoy are among the ten with the greatest year-on-year growth in rental prices with increases of 19.6% and 18.2% in the last 12 months.
A spokesperson for the real estate portal, María Matos, explained that this situation is due to several factors that are affecting the real estate market in Spain. Among the main reasons is the slowdown in the construction of public housing, which has fallen dramatically during the last decade.
