Two matches were played at Pinatar on Wednesday, the first kicking off before the heat of the day at 10am.
The morning fixture saw Crónica Al-Ain U21, from the United Arab Emirates, take on the Elche Community Club, Costa City, an entertaining match in which Al-Ain ran out winners with a goal in each half, taking the victory by 2-0.
In the second clash of the day FC Cartagena entertained the Saudi pro club Damac FC, trained by former Romanian player Cosmin Contra.
It was Damac that took the lead, somewhat against the run of play, with a penalty, midway through the opening half, a lead that the held on to, despite Cartagena pressure who’s best opportunity was thwarted by a great save from keeper Muhamed in the 70th minute.
It proved to be a day full of football, which demonstrates the attractiveness of the Region of Murcia and specifically the Costa Cálida for top-level football.
