Cambiemos Orihuela is putting social care at the forefront of their policies in contesting the upcoming Municipal Elections, social rights at a local level in a City Council that protects care, fights inequality and looks toward improving well being.
Among those launching the manifesto in Orihuela’s Plaza de la Salud last week were candidates, María García Sandoval and María Menárguez, together with the vice president of the Generalitat, Aitana Mas.
María García Sandoval explained that “although there has been an increase in social policies on the part of the Generalitat, many have not materialized in Orihuela, due to the lack of political will. She explained that “we have a Council that that has no desire to strengthen social rights and understand that public policies that are key to improving people’s lives.”
Aitana Mas, Vice President of the Generalitat, Minister of Inclusive Policies and Compromís candidate for the Valencian Parliament, highlighted a basic objective for her group, since it entered the regional government in 2015, has been to make social services “the fourth leg of the Welfare State and to do it seriously, by increasing money and personnel.
In the case of Orihuela, the Generalitat actions at the local level have increased from €417,000 in 2015, to more than 4 million during these years.
