Arsonists are causing havoc in the north of the Alicante Province with Altea police asking the public for help in arresting the culprits.
Municipal police of Altea are also asking for the public to help in identifying those responsible for a current bout of vandalism in the town.
Street flower planters have been turned over and broken, along with the torching of large street rubbish containers.
“Any information will be gratefully received by the municipal police of Altea on 965 84 5511 available 24 hours, 365 days of the year,” said a spokesperson.
Meanwhile in Torre Pacheco bins have been doused by waste collection service personnel from STV Gestion after residents disposed of hot embers and ash into the disposal containers.
The fires were a threat to the personel along with their vehicles and buildings.
“We are asking that people make sure disposal of hot embers and ash is undertaken after properly extinguishing it,” said a spokesperson from the council.
