CF Sporting San Fulgencio close gap on leaders Atletico de Catral
CF Sporting San Fulgencio put pressure on Valencia 1st Regional Group 9 leaders Atletico de Catral with a 1-0 win against Sporting Dolores on Sunday.
The win puts just two points between Sporting (29) and the league leaders Catral on 31 points.
SC Torrevieja sit in third after a 4-2 home win against Alguena CF who drop to ninth, with Torre on 27 points.
CD Montesinos defeated CF Rafal 3-1 at the Municipal Stadium, climbing to seventh.
CD Murada lost 2-0 against FB Redován CF B in 17a Jornada Regional Preferente V, with goals from Victor Arenas and Breno.
Orihuela v Cox result overturned following protest
The FFCV have stepped in to award CD Cox three points, despite losing 4-3 against Orihuela CF B in the Valencia 1st Regional Group 9 on January 9.
The regional derby between Orihuela B, under coach Edu Barcelò, and CD Cox, was played at El Palmeral de Orihuela.
Barceló fielded several youth players in the senior squad.
Immediately after the fixture, CD Cox made a protest before the body of the Valencian Federation, in which they stated Orihuela CF B could have infringed article 269 of the Regulations, a rule that states a team must have at least seven registered players from that squad on the field.
The competition judge, favoured CD Cox under coach Juanan Cases, changing the result of the derby game and awarding the three points to CD Cox, by a scoreline of 0-3.
Orihuela can lodge an appeal before the Appeals Committee.
