The 2019 Cabo Roig Petanca Cup took place on Friday morning, a competition between four teams of predominantly expats, Cleopatra, Sphinx, Nefertiti and Tutankhamun and played for on La Caleta on an annual basis.
Very much a social occasion, players from the host nation Spain, as well as Norway, Sweden, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Scotland, enjoyed a morning of fun and sport, accompanied by nibbles and the occasional glass of cava with Teams Cleopatra and Nefertiti meeting in the final. But it was the team named in honour of the Queen of the Nile that came out on top with Klaus, Brian, Linda and Monika taking the spoils after a very close disputed contest.
