The Orihuela Costa Branch of the RBL met on Thursday evening at Mil Palmeras where, following the general meeting, Local performer Al Joel, himself a former serviceman, entertained the members with a selection of numbers from the great American songbook.
Al demonstrated just why he is regarded as one of the most sought after crooners in the area as he covered many of the greats including Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Kenny Rogers.
Despite his wonderful stylistic voice Al only sings professionally on a few selected occasions during the year, choosing to use his talents mainly in support of charity events, for which he gives his immense vocal abilities absolutely free.
IT is hoped that Al will be back at the RBL as one of a host of popular entertainers performing in their outdoor gala concert in Mil Palmeras on Saturday 1 June.
