A spokesperson for the National Police said that they have arrested in Benidorm the alleged leader of a gang dedicated to robbery, extortion and threats to eastern citizens in Britain and that he was being sought by the authorities of that country.
His name had been included on the list of most wanted people published by ‘Crimestoppers’ and his capture has been made possible thanks to the investigation and the constant exchange of information between the National Police and the Agency through the National Crime Center (NCA).
A British official said that they knew that the suspect was spending some time in Spain accompanied by his family, information that was communicated to the Spanish Police.
The Location Group of International Fugitives of the National Police, in collaboration with the homicide division of the UDEV of the province of Alicante, carried out investigations that determined that the defendant was in Benidorm, where he was subsequently arrested and placed at the disposition of the Central Court of Instruction.
