The annual Benitachell Open attracts top bowlers from all of the surrounding clubs. Seven days of intense bowling saw successful players often required to play two full matches a day in intense heat. Finals day saw four Javea players lift two of the four trophies.
Firstly Derek & Lynne Eldon (with Greg Spearing & Yvonne Briden) won the mixed rinks, then Jan & Paul Brown beat the home team of Yvonne Browne & Alex Fisher to lift the Pairs trophy.
Derek Eldon thanked the BBC for a well run competition and the unbiased support of the large crowd on finals day.
After the presentations players were treated to tapas and wine courtesy of BBC.
