This week the Warblers travelled to Alicante worried about the wet weather in the past few days. But we did not need to worry as the sun was out and the course played very well indeed. Well done to all.
There were twenty six players with only one guest that being Stephen Longbottom who again was made to feel very welcome by everyone there. The game today was a stableford competition with two divisions.
Winner of division one and the only par breaking score was our top man in form Glynn Braidley (Hcap 8.7) now 8.1 with a nice cut, got a superb 38pts “well done Glynn” second with 34pts was Andy Loeber (Hcap 10.9) and Chris Hoare (Hcap 12.3) was third with 32pts.
Winner of division two with 33pts was Sheila Dindar (Hcap 25.8), Peter Gibson came second with 31pts and just behind with 30pts was Sylvia Mortensen (Hcap 20.4).
We had six nearest the pins this week thanks to our Bithday sponsor Sheila Dindar whis was very much appreciated by all the members won by Barbara Pollitt, Steve Robinson, Dave Knight, Chris Hoare Michael Morley and again Dave Knight respectively. There were two two’s achieved today by Steve Robinsonon hole 3 and Dave Knight on hole 17.
The big game today was the Final of our Doubles competition between Glynn Braidley and Roger Vicars up against Michael Morley and David Edwards the result a good win for Glynn and Roger 4 & 2. This is the third year running that Roger has won the trophy so he is now everyone’s pick for next year “well done to you Roger and of course Glynn. The football card winner was Vicki Loeber with Sheffield United and Vicki kindly donated her winnings to the Captain’s Charity “thank you Vicki”.
