Kanye West is a well-known artist and one of America’s favorite rappers whose work has helped to inspire a new generation of rappers such as Chance and Kendrick Lamar.
This week Kanye West came out in support of President-elect Donald J Trump shortly after Kim Kardashian West, Kanye’s wife, gave her support to Secretary Clinton. Kanye said that he didn’t vote in the recent US elections, but if he had done, he would have given the thumbs up to Donald Trump.
Speaking at his Saint Pablo Tour show in San Jose, Kanye said: “I would have voted on Trump”. He also told black people to “stop focusing on racism”. “We are in a racist country – period.”
He also confirmed his desire to run for the office of US president in 2020, saying that his focus would be on education and that his campaign would use a different political model.
