Last Sunday the sixth San Fulgencio Fun Run took place around La Marina Village. The event was organised by the Department of Sports at the San Fulgencio Town Hall.
On a sunny morning there were plenty of spectators to cheer the runners on and with more than 350 participants taking part in the many categories the race proved once again to be an enormous success.
In his closing speech the mayor highlighted the cooperation and the work done by many of the local bodies, the Local Police, Civil Protection and members of the municipal ambulance service, and as a result of their efforts he said that everything ran extremely smoothly.
He also thanked the many local businesses who contributed toward the competition.
Not all were winners but the participants all received a commemorative tee shirt racks and food, fruit and isotonic drinks.
The winners in their category were:
Men’s Open Category: 1stMohamed Boucetta, 2nd Ivan Hernandez Illan, 3rd Antonio Martínez Ardil.
Women’s Open Category: 1st Wafiyla Benali, 2nd Sissel Moeller, 3rd Cristina Macia Riquelme
Local Men: 1st Roger Parkinson, 2nd Alvaro José Cases Gracia, 3rd Javier Fernandez Costa
Local Women: 1st Angela Sanderson, 2nd Fina Rocamora Vera
