Alderman Fitzwarren, portrayed by (Paul Clough), is a character whose aspirations for wealth and status often clash with the down-to-earth sensibilities of Mrs. Gubbins (Played by Dave Hart). As Fitzwarren seeks to elevate his social standing, Mrs. Gubbins becomes a voice of reason, her love for the Alderman evident even as she rolls her eyes at his grandiose schemes.
This love-hate relationship is at the heart of the story, showcasing the fine line between ambition and foolishness.
Meanwhile, Idle Jack (Played by Leigh Humphries) adds a layer of mischievous charm to the mix, often finding himself at odds with both Fitzwarren and Mrs. Gubbins. His antics create a comedic foil to the sometimes serious undertones of adult ambition, reminding the audience that laughter is the best medicine. Jack’s irreverent attitude and knack for trouble not only entertain but also challenge the authority figures, highlighting the sometimes tumultuous relationships between young and old, hope and cynicism.
As the characters navigate their tangled emotions, audiences are treated to a spectacular display of humour, song, and dance. The vibrant costumes and engaging choreography elevate the love-hate dynamic, making it a central theme of the production.
The pantomime will be showing at the Cardenal Belluga Theatre, San Fulgencio on Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th of December.
