For the first time, the city of Orihuela has released a tourist brochure that brings together the entire schedule of events for its Holy Week celebrations. Created jointly by the Department of Tourism and Orihuela Cultural, the brochure includes details on religious events, processions, and cultural activities taking place throughout the week. Its main goal is to make information more accessible and enhance the experience for visitors during this special time, which has been recognized as a celebration of International Tourist Interest.
This initiative addresses the growing number of visitors during Holy Week by offering a clear, user-friendly resource to help them plan their stay and ensure they don’t miss any of the city’s offerings.
All of Holy Week in One Handy Guide
The brochure features the full program of processions and transfers, complete with times and routes, along with events organized by the various brotherhoods. It also lists other activities taking place during the week, such as concerts, cultural events, and guided tours.
A standout section of the brochure is dedicated to the city’s museums, highlighting their extended opening hours to allow both tourists and locals to explore Orihuela’s rich historical and artistic heritage during Holy Week.
Free at All Major Tourist Spots
The brochure is available free of charge at several key locations around the city and coastal areas: the tourist offices in Glorieta, the Renfe train station, and La Zenia Shopping Center, as well as at Orihuela’s City Hall and its branch in Orihuela Costa. All local museums will also carry copies.
With this first edition, the City Council takes another step in its commitment to providing high-quality tourist information and strengthening Orihuela’s position as a prime destination for Holy Week celebrations.
