The Tourism Department of the Orihuela Council has awarded the contract for improving the city’s management as a smart tourist destination to the company Sien Planificación Inteligente, S.L. The project is expected to be completed by March 2026.
The contract, valued at €71,995.00, will fund a specialized technical team that will focus on two main areas: first, strengthening coordination among various municipal departments with complementary responsibilities in tourism, and second, analysing and managing data from different sources that provide crucial information for tourism planning.
Key sources include presence sensors, mobility and parking systems, mobile applications, and social media.
This initiative is financed through a grant from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, under the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, with funds from the European Union – Next Generation EU.
The ultimate goal is to establish Orihuela as a modern, efficient tourist destination that is well-equipped to face the sector’s new challenges.
