April 3, 2025 – The Civil Guard has arrested a 41-year-old man in a gaming hall for tampering with an electronic roulette machine in an attempt to fraudulently win prizes. The suspect, who had ten active judicial warrants for similar crimes across multiple provinces, has been sent to prison after appearing before the court.

Tampering with the Machine and Immediate Response

The incident took place in the early hours of March 6, when the Civil Guard patrol from Callosa de Segura was alerted by a gaming hall about a possible case of machine tampering. According to the report, an individual was using tools to manipulate a gambling machine.

Upon arrival, officers found the suspect in the act of tampering with the machine. They identified him and discovered that he had drilled a hole in the machine’s glass and was using a wire to stop the roulette wheel at favorable positions, accumulating an unpaid amount of €8,000. When confronted, the man attempted to flee, forcefully pushing against the emergency exit. Officers pursued him and managed to apprehend him in the parking lot after he put up strong resistance.

Criminal Background and Seized Items

Upon searching his belongings, officers found over €6,300 in cash and the drill he had used to manipulate the machine. A background check confirmed that the suspect had ten active search and arrest warrants issued by various Spanish courts, all related to similar crimes.

The detainee, a 42-year-old Moroccan national, was presented before Orihuela’s Court of Instruction No. 3, which ordered his imprisonment.
