  • Five suspects were caught red-handed working on the plantation and have been placed in provisional custody.
  • Authorities seized 6.5 kilograms of hashish, 1.5 kilograms of marijuana buds, 482 marijuana plants, four vehicles, €2,000 in cash, two replica firearms, and various technological equipment.
  • This operation was made possible thanks to citizen collaboration and the meticulous work of investigators.

The Civil Guard has carried out a drug trafficking operation in a residential area of San Vicente del Raspeig, leading to the arrest of five individuals and the dismantling of an indoor marijuana plantation. The operation, named Alrrebo25, resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of drugs and the dismantling of a criminal network specializing in drug production and distribution on an international scale.

The investigation began in late 2024 following numerous complaints from residents about strong marijuana odors and frequent power outages in the area. These signs led officers to focus their investigation on a house that exhibited characteristics typical of a marijuana grow operation.

Police investigations confirmed a large-scale electricity fraud, with power consumption equivalent to that of 20 fully operating homes. Additionally, a sophisticated system was in place to shift excessive power consumption to nighttime hours. Authorities also identified a serious fire hazard due to the high temperatures emitted by an electrical pole near the property.

During the investigation, it was discovered that five men of Spanish and Swiss nationality, aged between 25 and 47, were illegally occupying the residence without the owner’s knowledge. They used a construction company to launder the proceeds from drug trafficking. Furthermore, several of them had prior criminal records related to drug trafficking. One of the group’s leaders was also wanted under two judicial warrants issued by Alicante’s court for document forgery, assault, and traffic offenses.

On March 10, after confirming the presence of the suspects inside the property, law enforcement officers conducted a raid. The operation resulted in the confiscation of:

  • 6,500 grams of hashish
  • 1,500 grams of marijuana buds
  • 482 marijuana plants
  • Four mid-range vehicles
  • €2,000 in cash
  • Two replica handguns
  • Technological equipment for drug processing and packaging, including vacuum sealers, dryers, precision scales, and specialized machinery for hashish production

An analysis of the seized documents helped authorities determine the hierarchical structure of the organization, the continuity of its criminal activities, and the final destination of the drugs, which were primarily intended for the Swiss market.

The Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 3 of San Vicente del Raspeig has ordered the provisional imprisonment of the five detainees for their alleged involvement in offenses related to public health (marijuana cultivation and drug trafficking), electricity fraud, and membership in a criminal organization. Additionally, one of the suspects has been charged with a traffic offense for driving despite having lost all points on his license.

Thanks to citizen cooperation and the thorough work of investigators, another significant blow has been dealt to organized crime and drug trafficking in the province of Alicante.

The operation was carried out by the Investigation Unit of the San Vicente del Raspeig Civil Guard, with support from the Public Safety Division of the same unit.
