Aurigny Air Services is set to debut at Alicante-Elche Airport this summer, introducing a seasonal connection between July 5 and August 9. This marks the airport’s first-ever direct link to the Channel Islands.

As the Airport gears up for its peak season, it continues expanding its network, reaching 30 countries and adding exciting new destinations such as Austria, Poland, and Greece. Airlines are taking advantage of this growing demand: Wizz Air will launch the first-ever connection between Alicante and Belgrade, easyJet will introduce a direct route to Greece, and Ryanair is tapping into Central European travel trends with flights to Salzburg, Linz, and an additional route to Poland. Meanwhile, Norwegian is increasing its flights to Riga, Latvia.

With a record-breaking 14.7 million scheduled seats, passenger traffic at the airport is expected to reach new heights. This number could rise even further if airlines continue increasing flight frequencies or adding new routes—such as the newly announced service linking Alicante with the Channel Islands.

Aurigny Air Services, a subsidiary of the State of Guernsey, will connect Spain’s Costa Blanca with Guernsey, one of the islands forming the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Home to over 60,000 residents, this British Crown Dependency is situated between Great Britain and Normandy.

The airline recently unveiled its summer flight schedule on social media, confirming new connections from its Guernsey base to Bastia, Porto, Nice, and Alicante. The Alicante-Guernsey service will operate on Saturdays, running from July 5 to August 9.

This marks a milestone for Alicante-Elche Airport, as Aurigny Air Services establishes a “regular” seasonal connection. Over the course of just over a month, the airline will operate six flights. Departures from Alicante to Guernsey are scheduled for 1:20 p.m., arriving at 3:55 p.m., while return flights will leave Guernsey at 8:10 a.m., landing in Alicante at approximately 12:20 p.m.

This new addition strengthens Alicante’s ties with the United Kingdom—its largest source market, with 6.12 million passengers. With major airlines like Ryanair, easyJet, and Jet2 increasing connections and frequencies, Alicante-Elche Airport continues solidifying its position as a key gateway for British travellers.
