A charity Darts and Petanque competition was organized at the Las Terrazas de la Torre golf resort late last year, with a raffle where all proceeds were donated to local charities. The event was promoted through the Facebook group “Terrazas Darts,” which had been created months earlier to encourage the use of the dartboards at the resort’s pub, The 19th Hole. Local businesses were also approached for donations of products or vouchers to be used as prizes for the raffle and the competition.

Held on December 2, 2024, despite being off-season, the event successfully raised over €1,100. The majority of the funds supported cancer patients through a donation to MABS San Javier, while additional contributions went to underprivileged children via the Foodbank in Torre Pacheco and an animal rescue foundation.

Encouraged by the generosity of both local businesses and participants, organizers have decided to repeat and expand the event on Monday, April 14, 2025. The tournament will take place at The 19th Hole, the pub and restaurant at Terrazas de la Torre Golf Resort, starting at 14:00 hrs. Public registration will begin at 13:30 hrs. The event is open to everyone, with entry fees for each tournament set at €10, which includes a €2 game fee for pool. Raffle tickets will be available at €1 each, sold only in multiples of five.

All money collected from tournament entry fees and raffle ticket sales will go entirely to the selected charities, which include MABS Torre Pacheco, an organization providing practical assistance to cancer patients, and the Foodbank in Torre Pacheco, which supports families and children in need.

With the hope of surpassing last year’s success, the event aims to bring the community together for a good cause. Anyone interested in participating or supporting the initiative is encouraged to attend. For further information, contact +34 660 14 3003 or email phil.holmes@t-online.de.
